The following items are from last week's School Newsletter:

Gymnastics

Our staff training day last Monday was focused on Gymnastics and further developing and improving our P.E. provision in school. This training will be continued into this term with class teachers working alongside sports coaches to further develop their skills in this area. We have further training planned throughout the year as part of our School Sports Funding use.

Consultant's report

At the end of last half term we were visited by a consultant, Andree Coleman, who carried out a review of teaching and learning in school. The outcomes from this day were very positive with her reporting that: 'The school continues to improve. Tracking systems are detailed and effective and regular monitoring by the headteacher and other senior leaders ensures that teachers are held to account for the progress that pupils make.'

'Governors provide a good balance of support and challenge to the school along with a good knowledge and understanding of performance which enables them to hold the school to account well.'

Romeo & Juliet

Diamond class and Ruby class experienced a fabulous performance of Romeo and Juliet by a Manchester drama company on Tuesday afternoon. They also took part in a question and answer session with the actors.

These are some of the children's views:
Ruby Preston 'It was fabulous, I hope we can do it again!'
Molly Lancaster 'We had such fun and can't wait to do some drama ourselves.

The children are now using this experience to do their own playscripts and become characters from the story themselves. I know some of the children have also had chance to act out key scenes from the story too and I have heard great things about their enthusiasm and interest in this special work.

Active Audlem

As part of our focus on sports and active lifestyles in school, we are inviting parents and carers to join us for Active Audlem on Wednesday 6th November at 8.30am before school. Your child will have brought a flier home about this earlier this week, please look out for it for more information. I hope many of you will be able to join us.

FASA

Congratulations to all involved in the Spooky Night Disco. The FASA team did a super job advertising and organising the event. FASA would like to thank Chris and Anne Marshall for their part in the evening. DJ Chris did an amazing job with the music and games, and the children had a fantastic time!

The disco raised an amazing £261.61 which will go towards supporting the school. FASA would like to thank parents and children who supported this event and made it such a success.

The next FASA meeting will be held in the school hall next Thursday from 2pm – 3pm. I hope you can join the group to help prepare for the Big Switch On and our Christmas Fair. All parents/carers are welcome, and we look forward to seeing you there.

FASA's Rag Bag community collection is due to be collected from school on Monday morning. Thank you to those families who have returned your bags. If you still have bags to donate please take them to Audlem Post Office. The more bags collected the more funds will be raised for school; so please don't stop at one bag if you have more to donate! (Bin bags can be used for additional donations).

British Sausage Week

To celebrate British Sausage week next week, Mrs Hayward, our School Cook, is running a colouring competition for the children in school. Children can collect a colouring sheet from Mrs Hayward and need to return it to school by Friday 22nd November. The winning entry from our school will be sent to Cheshire East Catering Services and an overall winner from across County will then be selected. Good luck!
