The most recent Newsletter from the school went out later than normal and this covers the week ending 28th March:

Poetry and Drama Week Creates Wonderful Work in School

Our week was filled with lots of poetry and drama last week with our special themed week launched by Mrs Heathcock in last Monday's assembly. The children in Diamond class
started this special week by planning and delivering mini lessons for classes across school
which they did amazingly well – I know several teachers asked if they could keep them in
their classes to help them more regularly!

Children in all classes have been creating some wonderful work inspired by their learning. Please look out for it on new displays around school after our Easter break.

Our Sports Relief challenge was a great success with the total laps completed by classes of
our Active Audlem circuit reaching a fabluous 385km. This special day also raised £165.05
for Sports Relief, thank you for your support with this.

Sapphire class have had a busy week, they were visited by Dr Sullivan (and young nurse Kate Sullivan) on Tuesday as part of their Healthy topic and Science work. They had a wonderful time checking their breathing rates and temperatures and it was super to see their topic coming to life in such a special way.

It has also been their class Literacy Coffee Morning today where they have shared their imaginative writing ideas with visitors from home.

We have recently carried out a whole school Pupil Voice survey in school, I was able to share some of the outcomes of this with our School Council at our meeting this week. The responses were overwhelmingly positive with lots of great ideas for making our school even better (including adding a swimming pool!).

I will be discussing the outcomes with School Council and staff members next term so we can use some of the ideas to inform our future plans.

Diamond class began a special artwork project for the Audlem Music and Arts Festival with Chritsine Johnson last week. They are creating some Aboriginal Artwork to display during the Festival and the first session has already produced some great ideas!

Dance Finals

The children who represented us in the Inter School Dance Finals last Friday did a wonderful job with our school winning several trophies in a range of catergories. It was
wonderful to see such enthusiasm and expertise on show and, as ever, to be joined by so many parents and family members cheering them all on.

A special mention must go to Mrs Heathcock and Mr Griffiths who treated us all to a
'distinctive' version of the dances. I am sure all who were there will remember their
performance for sometime to come!

FASA

FASA's Easter fundraising event took place on Thursday after school from 3.15pm – 5pm.

Don't forget, FASA will also be holding a 'Black and White Glamour Night' at Audlem Public Hall on Friday 9th May from 7.30pm – 12pm. Tickets are now available for this from the FASA team or our School Office.

One of the many ways FASA raises money for school is through the use of the
Rag Bag Bin (situated near our main school gates). If you have any old clothes, shoes or covers that you are happy to donate, please bag them up and put them into the bin. Thank you.

ABC Childcare

Lynsey and the ABC team would like to wish you all a very Happy Easter. Don't forget their breakfast and after school clubs, which are open during term time.  Please call Lynsey on 01270 669050 for more details.

Book Fair

Thank you to Mrs Heathcock and her Librarians for their hard work organising and running our Book Fair in school. I am delighted to report that this event raised £450.55 for school which we will be able to use towards new books for our library.

This would not be possible without the tremendous support of families visiting the fair each day. Thank you.

Wedding Bells

Miss Johnson will be having a very busy Easter as she is getting married! I am sure you will join with me to wish her a very happy day and we look forward to welcoming her back to school as Mrs Morgan.

Midday Assistant?

We currently have a shortage of casual midday assistants – people we can ring if our regular team are absent. If you would be interested in becoming a midday assistant in school, please contact the school office for further information.

Finally

Thank you for all of your support during last week's OFSTED inspection. We are awaiting the report and I will, of course, share this with you once we have received it.

This will be my final newsletter before our Easter break, I hope you all have a wonderful Easter and look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Tuesday 22nd April.
