With the arrival of Spring, new brown tourist direction signs are now in place at the bottom of the locks, and at the main road bridge on the A525. These signs have been funded by local traders, and at no cost to the village finances!

The new signs were produced for the Audlem Traders by Martyn King of Vimart Signwriting.

In addition, a large supply of Audlem tourist leaflets were picked up from Delmar Printers in Nantwich yesterday. These were funded by Cheshire East and produced and written by the Audlem Parish Plan Community Projects team. The 'Audlem motif' featuring the Audlem sign, crane, church and canal was designed by local resident, Chris Elliott.

They are being distributed at present to Williams' newsagents, the Post Office, Audlem Mill shop – who will also be keeping the British Waterways volunteers on the canal supplied – and the Overwater Marina. Visit Chester & Cheshire are also arranging for them to be placed in Tourist Information Centres around the area.

Click on the photos of the leaflets to enlarge them. The printed versions are A4 size, then folded in three making six pages in all. Many thanks to all the local photographers whose photos are featured.

If any other businesses would like a supply, please let Audlem Online know, or you can ask at Williams' newsagents where stocks are being stored.

Another leaflet, funded by the European Union and Defra, is in design at present. This will feature Audlem's 2011 Events and the new Audlem Lass boat service on the canal.
