Following the sad and still mysterious disappearance of Myvanwy, the goat herd on the island at the Overwater Marina, applications for the now vacant post are being sought.

While not widely publicised, a thriving small herd of goats was established on the island soon after the marina was opened. Hidden much of year by the spectacular displays of wild flowers – click on the photo to enlarge it and one of the herd can be spotted if you look carefully – the goats prospered, so enabling the marina to recruit a goat herd.

Myvanwy applied and soon, we are told, established a close and loving relationship with the goats. Quite what went wrong resulting in her sudden disappearance has provoked many rumours in the area, none of which could possibly be repeated on a responsible website.

Applicants for the post must have a liking for goats (no kidding), be able to swim, have a good sense of humour and be prepared to bare all as Overwater Marina is now proposing to create an exclusive naturist holiday camp for stressed out city execs who wish to "get back to nature" and detox on the island.

Once planning permission has been granted, the island will be renamed "Moon Island" in a special opening ceremony by the famous adult entertainer Ben Dover. It is hoped that Myvanwy's successor will be in post in time to enjoy the opening.

Applications should be sent to Janet Maughan, Overwater Marina, Coole Lane, Newhall, Nantwich, Cheshire CW5 8AY or by email at info@overwatermarina.co.uk">info@overwatermarina.co.uk
