The minutes of the October meeting of Audlem Parish Council are now published in the Parish Council section of Audlem Online.

Regular readers will recall that funding has been found for new children's playground equipment. At the Parish Council meeting, Cllr Peter Morgan reported that the contractor had taken delivery of equipment and anticipated starting work during November.

Cheshire East's programme for construction of the footpath from the car park to the playground was not yet known.

As we reported on 6th August, a grant of £17,000 had been awarded by Crewe & Nantwich Borough Council for new equipment and improvements to the children's playground earlier this year. The Parish Council then submitted an application to WREN (Waste Recycling Environmental Limited) for top up funding to complete the work planned.

WREN granted the full £11,400 balance required to upgrade the children's playground, meaning there was a total of £28,400 to install the planned new equipment and tarmac the paths.

The Parish Council agreed to provide match funding of £1,254 which was required to unlock Landfill Communities Funding.
