A new print run of Toby of the White Ciity -- The Boat Dog's Story, the new book by the late Sheila Stewart, who wrote the classic canal novel Ramlin Rose. The book talks of Toby the boat dog's adventures and misadventures with the Hone family on their horse drawn boats White City and Rose and Betty on the Oxford Canal during WW2. Illustrations by acclaimed canal artist DC 'Dusty' Miller.
A new book by Victoria Owens -- The Life of LTC Rolt -- Where Engineering Met Literature. Rolt was co-founder of the Inland Waterways Association in 1946, which resulted from his seminal book Narrow Boat of 1944, and a few years later he was the main force behind the saving of the world-famous narrow guage Talyllyn Railway -- the world's first preserved railway. Rolt was also heavily into vintage cars. This book explores Rolt's life, and is the first biography of the engineer turned author.
