Audlem Neighbourhood Plan Update

As avid followers will remember, just over 2 months ago the draft plan was sent to more than 500 statutory and other bodies for what is known as 'Regulation 14 Consultation', providing the opportunity for them all to comment.

As a result there were 14 responses requiring review by the Steering Committee to determine whether or not any changes should be made to the plan.

Some comments were very useful and were taken on board, others rejected as being against the formal wishes of the community.

The prize for 'largest response document' goes to a well known developer who provided 37 pages of riveting prose!
During this period were also two public meetings held in the village so that residents could review, discuss and make suggestions about the draft plan. There was excellent and very supportive input from almost 100 residents who provided invaluable feedback approving and improving the content of the plan.

All of these responses have been recorded, together with all of the other sources of relevant opinion. This 'evidence' is crucial if the plan is to go forward for approval as any Neighbourhood Plan must be shown to accurately reflect the views of the residents, local business and any other body of people potentially affected by the plan.

So, 53 pages and 18000 words later (and thats just the plan, not all the myriad of other supporting documents), the Audlem Neighbourhood Plan is almost ready to be approved by the Parish Council and then sent off to Cheshire East Council Spacial Planning for their examination and approval.

This will be quite a long process as once Cheshire East Council Spacial Planning have approved the plan it then needs to be reviewed by an Independent Examiner. If this is successful then finally Cheshire East Council have to arrange for an official Referendum to be held so that Audlem residents can vote in favour of the plan.If over 50% of those who vote agree, the Plan is formally accepted by Cheshire East Council and it becomes a Statutory Planning Document.
