Ann Jones writes: "Can you tell me whether there is anything in the local Natural History archives relating to nightingales at Hankelow Mill. There is a story in my family about my grandfather visiting Hankelow Mill, probably in the early 1900s, to listen to the nightingale. I would be very interested to learn of any information to support this."
Nightingales rarely get this far north these days – typically Worcestershire is about the furthest north in England that they are heard regularly – but if anyone has information on this, the webteam will forward it to Ann.
