When one of AudlemOnline's regular photographers passed us this scene he had captured, it seemed to confirm the rumours that a local mud wrestling event was being planned.
The mystery is, however, which local organisation has it in mind, as the person in the photo is not immediately recognisable. Our thoughts turned to the Audlem Ladies football team, always up for a bit of fun and to raise funds and, clearly, by playing the sport seem to enjoy sliding in mud.
But then again, who can ignore the Women's Institute, where every WI throughout the land has been thinking up ways to emulate the Yorkshire Calendar Girls whose exploits led to world-wide fame, a successful film and plays that are still pulling in the crowds.
We have discounted the Parish Council, the three churches and the Mothers' Union from the list of suspects – at least we hope we can – but could the Festival committee be planning a new attraction at this year's festival in May. Mind you, where mud wresting fits into music or art we don't know, although at least one famous artist defined art as what you can get away with!
As for the Youth Club, we suspect they would only be up for this if it were chocolate rather than mud!
But maybe – just maybe – one of the Pilates groups in the village is being innovative and the session in the photo may well have taken place in a remote spot in Coole Pilates!
If you have any news on this forthcoming attraction, do let our Events correspondent Avril Fouliere know.
