More on moorings

Following up yesterday's story on an apparent reduction in the number of moorings in Audlem, I received this email from Rob Prigg in reply to mine:

"The future of Audlem Moorings remains secure and that will be respected.

"The reduction of two vacant berths was for the opening of Higginslane Farm Marina and not Overton Marina. (Not sure why he mentions this. Where is Overton marina?)

"I also have to consider that Audlem North moorings have presented us with the question of tall trees causing a number of complaints over the years. Until this issue is eventually taken care of once and for all, I need the flexibility of adjusting berths so we can offer movement on the moorings if that becomes necessary.

"Once I have a survey in place and we are satisfied that no risk is present I can evaluate the mooring space available. Our contractor teams have been busy with removing an unprecedented number of trees that have fallen during the winter storms so a certain amount of priority with fallen trees has to be considered before our moorings can be looked at.

"I hope that we will not have to wait much longer until we are told that the trees do not present a risk.

"As far as the On-Line Reduction of Mooring berths at Audlem, I have this morning asked whether the two berths can be taken into account by one of my neighbouring mooring managers and I am pleased to say that this has been approved.

"As a result I am able to advertise the berth at Audlem Town now and put the other vacancy at Audlem North on hold until we have dealt with the matter of the trees. Once we have the all clear I can measure up and see what space can be made available."

You read it here in black & white first. Good news for Audlem!
