Monday at the Audlem Festival

Another packed day at the Audlem Festival – and the Carnival too! What a day:

The Famous on the Fringe Festival at Hoc's Fat Pigeon, Cheshire Street

Daily, during the main festival days, all unplugged acoustic spot sets from many of the artists and buskers alike! Pop in to 'The Nest' at Hoc's and enjoy the chilled relaxed ambience you will find there.

10:00am – ADAPT Environmental Information at the Buttermarket

Environmental interests at the local level, find out more about the Transition Group here in the village.

10:00am – 1920's Pop-up Speakeasy on the Methodist Church Hall Car Park

"1920's Speak Easy", with Jazz singer Bexi Owen, plus children can make their own feather headband , necklace making, cupcake decorating etc. A great attraction for the young children. Lessons in the Charleston. A veritable Arts Jewel in the crown of our festival we feel.

10:00am – Display of Embroidery in Methodist Church Hall 

Exhibition by S Stead, M Derbyshire, D Ashby, Sue Molsom & C Evans of the Embroiderers Guild

10:00am – Photographic exhibition in the Scout & Guide Hall Cheshire Street

Photographic exhibition by Whitchurch Photo Society plus local arts & crafts

10:00am – Audlem Mill Shop Exhibitions at Audlem Mill Shop

Various Art & Craft exhibits over the festival weekend, plus pop in and take part in the didgeridoo competition!

11:00am – Invited Acoustic artists at Jinja Bakes Cafe

Start your morning off with a dash of acoustic music with your elevenses, check the board daily to see who's on.

12:00pm – Phil Maddocks in Blues Alley

Phil Maddocks has played here at Audlem and now the Singer songwriter is making a debut performance at the festival.

12:00pm – Steamhead in the Carnival

Trad jazz on the move....

12:00pm – Loud Mouth Women on The Wharf by the Mill Shop

These festival favourites are back with their special brand of a cappella

12:30pm – Sammi at The Bridge Inn

Singer songwriter Sammi with some refreshing lyrics and acoustic musical style.

12:30pm – Audlem St James School Folk Band at The Lord Combermere

This is folk from a school inspired project, led by Clare Smith backed by the Boat Band!

1:00pm – The Boat Band at The Lord Combermere

Creole, Caribbean, Gospel, Cajun, Irish, Zydeco & Blues from these festival friends and world wide legends.

1:30pm – Metrophanes at The Bridge Inn

A whole new world of sound from local musicians.

2:00pm – Jazz Dawgs in Blues Alley

Jazz Dawgs 3rd set of the festival, you want real West Coast swing, look no further, never tried West Coast swing? get along and give it a go, these are the boy's!

2:30pm – Sound of the Sirens at The Lord Combermere

They are coming back after last years festival, three voices in close harmony & two guitars. Echoes of that 80's decade take on folk rock, a hint of Annie Lennox in the melodies & the delivery, husky voices that are perfectly matched to one another, you've got Sound of the Sirens.

3:00pm – Mark Stevens at The Bridge Inn

Rocks non stop through an unbelieveable cover set that will leave you gasping for more, always great to see Mark back in Audlem.

3:00pm – Lost in the Mist at The Shroppie Fly

Here with their own brand of musical entertainment.

4:00pm – Ritchie Syreet at The Lord Combermere

Richie Syrett is a singer/songwriter whose typically melodic and ragged style makes a grateful nod to a number of rootsy influences, whilst all the time maintaining its own signature sound. Following a gig earlier in the year Ritchie had to be invited back to play the Festival!

4:00pm – Loud Mouth Women in St James Church

These festival favourites are back for a second set, with their special brand of a cappella

4:30pm – Matrix Club Remix at The Bridge Inn

UK's premier live dance/house/club music band playing all the classic club anthems that guarantee to get you buzzing

5:00pm – Folk Session at The Shroppie Fly

Legendary Monday folk session that brings together musical souls from all over to share with you folk songs from down the centuries.

6:00pm – The Rainband at The Lord Combermere

The Rainband are on the cusp of something major, according to the Manchester music fraternity including Rowetta & Liam Gallagher, The Doves & Elbow have championed their cause.

6:30pm – USB's at The Bridge Inn

Mexican masks and surf rock – a mystical mix of entertainment

8:00pm – Jeff's Milking Parlour at The Bridge Inn

New Orleans Funk from this six piece band playing tracks from the outrageous New Orleans Funk scene and all those influenced by it, Bamboos, The New Mastersounds and of course The Meters.

8:00pm – Taylor and the Mason in The Lord Combermere

Fast becoming as big in Audlem as Manchester, this Manchester duo have been gigging pedalling their own brand of folky-acoustic-pop type music, influences vary wildly from Motown, Rock & Roll to Joni Mitchell,an eclectic mix of acoustic sounds & close harmonies.

9:30pm – Jonny Miller All Stars in The Shroppie Fly

The ever popular festival jam session, who knows where it will go...

10:00pm – Roydan Styles Band in The Bridge Inn

The magic that Rodan Styles & his Band has to be seen & heard to be believed. Full on entertainment you will find hard to ignore!

10:00pm – Adam & Jo in The Lord Combermere

The core of the Travelling Band are always a welcome performance in Audlem their second home...enough said!
