Still catching up with Transport Festival news, it was good to see a local winner of the Robin Mayne Memorial Trophy which is awarded to the most interesting motorcycle or rider at the Festival.
The winner was Mike Harthern for his lovingly restored Triumph 1959 T110. Mike is well known in the village and will be a popular winner. Our thanks to Karen Wollaston for the photo.
Audlem resident Robin Mayne, who died in 2009, was a keen motorcyclist for over 50 years owning an array of interesting motorcycles including MV Agusta, Manx Norton, Honda CBR 6 and many more and also sponsored the motorcycle racing team Mayneline Racing whose rider, Clive Horton, had many successful races in the UK, Europe and America.
His memorial trophy is awarded by his family and friends in his memory.
