Firstly and most importantly we hope that you all are safe and well.

However we also want to remind everyone that we are open for all our patients during this difficult time. We have changed the way we work so that if you do need to come to the practice the risks are as low as practically possible, so please don't sit at home being unwell/ getting worse – arrange a phone appointment so we can discuss how we can help get you and keep you well.

We are delighted to welcome two new members to our practice team – Tony Williams (Physiotherapy) and Michael Willcocks (Practice Link Worker.) Both now have directly bookable appointments so please understand that our receptionists will ask about your health issues to ensure you get the most appropriate and fastest available service.

Tony offers first contact assessment for all musculoskeletal problems to examine, diagnose and treat and, if required, to refer patients on for further community physiotherapy or to the Musculoskeletal Team for further investigations and management.
Michael is here to offer support to people with the non-medical aspects of their care and to help them access the wide variety of services available in the local area.

Finally our Clinical Commissioning Group has included in our local prescribing scheme for 2020/21 a requirement that we move from 56 day to 28 day prescriptions to perhaps reduce our prescribing budget and medicines waste.

We have always resisted this as we believe it will cause significant inconvenience for our patients as well as being an increase in workload for us and our staff detracting us from direct patient care without clinical benefit.

However, before agreeing to make this change we would like to know what you think, so please contact us at audlem.practice@nhs.net with your views.

Dr Pete Leftwick, Dr Nancy Verso, Dr Dave Holden and whole Practice Team
