As some of you may know, Audlem Medical Practice has obtained planning permission to extend the Practice to provide 4 extra consulting rooms, a larger waiting room and reception area and some extra offices for support staff. This project is due to start on Monday 16th January 2023 and is estimated to take 35 weeks.
As a practice we have expanded our workforce in response to a constantly increasing patient list as new houses continue to be built in the area. We now have increased GP hours, more nurse time including a new nurse associate, a practice pharmacist, an in-house physiotherapist, a social prescriber, and several care co-ordinators. As a result, an extension has become necessary to accommodate the extra patients and the staff that are needed to care for them.
As our contractors will need access via the car park, we have obtained a Cheshire East licence so that they have safe access to the site and a place to keep their equipment securely. We would like to apologise in advance for any disruption this might cause to those needing to use the car park.
To ensure the safety of our staff and patients during the building work access to the practice will be via the door at the end of our drive at the back of the building and the waiting room will be in a portacabin on that side of our building. Our reception team will be based by the new entrance to help support and direct our patients.
Please bear with us during these 8-9 months as we will all be working under challenging circumstances. We have tried to minimise the disruption as much as we can, but inevitably there will be difficulties so we appreciate your patience and understanding.
We are looking forward to the completion of this project later in 2023 and are sure it will benefit our patients, our staff and the future of our village practice.
