Memorial aircraft formation flypast last Sunday over Audlem cemetery
Leading the formation was a British built Avro Anson ex Navy maritime reconnaissance and communications twin engined aircraft. Of which only two currently exist in flying condition anywhere in the world.
It was flanked on all sides by German Bucker Jungmann biplane aircraft.
All are based at Sleap Airfield, near Wem, Shropshire where there also is a specialist WW2 aircraft accident recovery group which preserves the memories of local pilots lives lost when flying in WW2 and researches the history of aircraft tragically lost while flying from north Shropshire airfields.
The museum is open most days and weekends and entrance to it is by voluntary donation
