The Audlem Medical Practice Patient Participation Group (PPG) met on Tuesday evening and, amongst other issues, discussed the practice's action plan as a result of the recent Patient Questionnaire for 2012-13.

The action plan said:

We are very grateful to our patients who completed questionnaires and appreciate the positive feedback and ideas for improvements. We are continually working towards improving the service we offer to our patients and will use the information from this survey to move forwards in the following ways:

  • 1. Continue to update and improve our register of patients up to date mobile telephone and e-mail contact details. Whilst issues of patient confidentiality and data security do limit the ways in which we can utilise these forms of communication, we are moving this forward. Our reception team are handing out forms for patients to complete to enable us to achieve this.
  • 2. Update the practice IT system. We have moved over to a new system in November 2012 (EMIS web) and this will allow us to start to offer on-line appointment booking with both doctors and nurses very shortly.
  • 3. Continue with the quarterly practice newsletter combining both Practice and Health Information that is distributed in various ways and will also be available electronically, via both the Practice and village websites and e-mail.
  • 4. Continue to have regular training sessions for all Practice Staff including sessions focused on improving the service and services offered to our patients.

These matters were agreed with the group at Tuesday's meeting on 15th January 2013.
