Scouts Fundraising Press Release

Audlem Scouts are currently working on their Media Relations and Marketing badge.

As part of this badge criteria the Scouts need to write a press release about scouts and send it to their local Media Development Manager so that they can get it published in the local press or community website. Another aspect of the badge work is to create an audio or video package which promotes scouting or scout activities. As their leaders, we have tasked the scouts with creating three press releases and three videos, which they will complete on a rotational basis each week. Each troop have a specific subject area in which to concentrate on for the forthcoming weeks, this weeks subject was Fundraising.

Audlem Scouts keep busy throughout the year, raising money for the group, for our premises, The Scout & Guide Hall and for other charities. Over the years, we have done many different things to raise money.

  • We get involved with the annual Christmas Tree collection to raise funds for the Scout & Guide Hall, where our meetings take place.
  • We offer a scout post service to deliver Xmas Cards.
  • We do Bag packs at local supermarkets
  • .We provide the climbing wall at The Village Festival Of Transport, to raise our profile and raise funds.
  • We made chutney to sell at the Xmas Switch On.
  • We now deliver the Village Newsletter.
  • We have had stalls at village events and have held a jumble sale.
  • We also took part in a sponsored Cycle ride for the Alzheimer's Society.

AudlemOnline looks forward to publishing the Reports that the Scouts have written.:
