Topics Come to Life All Over School!
We have continued to work hard in school this week with lots of exciting learning and topics beginning to show in displays and classrooms across school.
Pearl and Sapphire classes were treated to a visit from a Nantwich Vet on Monday who showed them lots of the jobs she does to help the animals she works with. The children were amazed at some of the equipment and information they shared – here are a few messages from children in these classes:
Ruby class took part in their own archaeological dig on Tuesday – searching for buried clues to the past and collecting an impressive array of 'artefacts' for their work. It was a delight to see them all working together to piece together the clues and find out more!
Amethyst class have been learning all about Jack and his amazing beanstalk and have planted some 'magic' beans this week – I wonder if they will grow?
Our School Council representatives have been voted for and I am pleased to announce the names of our new representatives for this school year. Each year group/class has a representative and a reserve representative. These children are:
We held our first School Council meeting on Thursday where our new representatives met with myself to discuss some of the ways the Council will work this term. Finlay Ryan and Emily Suggate are our new Chair and Vice Chair and Ruby Preston is our new Secretary. I am looking forward to giving you regular updates about their work!
Congratulations also go to our team of new librarians who began their duties this week. Emily Turner, Katie Francis, Lily Serif, Adam Rogers, Scarlett Lawrence, Emily Suggate, Maddison
Matravers, Fleur Varley, Ruby Youle and Jessica Smith are already working hard with Mrs Heathcock to keep our library up to date and organised. Keep it up!
Our new Play Leaders, Elliot Ayers, Taylor Nettleton and Scarlett Lawrence, began their duties this week setting up and modelling a range of games and activities for children during several lunchtimes each week. I have been very impressed with their responsible attitude toward this important role in school and they have looked super smart wearing their new Play Leader caps during the sessions!
Our first Active Audlem session for parents, children and staff takes place next Friday morning before school, I hope many of you will be able to join us for this. Please see the letter sent home earlier this week for more details.
