I don't know if all Audlem Online's readers take the Nantwich Chronicle but, in case they don't, I would like to draw their attention to an appeal from Mark Potts, author of many books about local war heroes.
He is trying to find the last local World War 1 war veteran to die – the veteran must have lived locally before and after serving.
Does anyone have a relative who was quite young when they served and then lived to a good age? Wouldn't it be good if it was an Audlem district man?
Mark can be contacted with any details on mark@markpotts.wanadoo.co.uk" target="_blank">mark@markpotts.wanadoo.co.uk but please share it with us if you think you have a contender!
Thanks
Celia Bloor, Audlem District History Society
