Longest event at Festival?

The 2010 Festival Folk Session was a roaring success, being back in its usual home (The Fly), although at an earlier time of 5.00pm, rather than the usual 8.30pm on Mondays.

Many guest musicians and singers turned up, and the audience really enjoyed themselves.

The only fly in the ointment (what a pun!) was the bar running out of Titanic and Timothy Taylors beer during the session, but that can't be blamed on the folkies this time! (Editor says – webteam contributed much to the shortage!)

A couple of dubious characters appeared early on in the session: one set up her ironing board and started work, and the other in a natty blazer was swigging gin from a bottle and hassling the public at the bar – see photos to help ID the couple.

The room was vacated, as agreed, at 8.00pm to allow the Blues Jam musicians set up their gear, but the session continued outside the pub for another hour or so: so at over four hours, it was probably the longest event of the Festival.

Many thanks to the organisers for scheduling us all back in our weekly home.
