Steve Elliott is leading the Long-ARS (Audlem Ramblers Society) walk next Saturday, 11th June.

In a departure from the usual 'turn-up-at-the-car-park' arrangement, accommodation has been booked for the weekend in the Malvern area for those who have previously expressed an interest in the walk.

If you are not staying, but would like to join the walk please be sure to let Steve know before Thursday on 07787 567001

His description of the walk:-

Length – 10.5 miles / 16.3 km
Ascent – 3300 feet / 1000 metres
3-4 booter

This classic route visits every single one of the Malvern Hills that comprise: North Hill, Sugarloaf Hill, Worcestershire Beacon, Summer Hill, Perseverance Hill, Jubilee Hill, Pinnacle Hill, Black Hill, Herefordshire Beacon, Broad Down, Hangman's Hill, Swinyard Hill, Midsummer Hill, Raggedstone Hill and Chase End Hill.

There is a small car park on the A438 at Hollybush at grid reference SO758368

The walk is linear, South to North, ending at the car park at North Quarry below North Hill at grid reference SO772470.

Steve says he must know in advance if anyone is intending to join those who are staying locally so that (i) he knows to meet them at Hollybush and (b) the group can sort out the car logistics at the end.

At the end of the walk there will be a need to ferry drivers back to the start point, so this could add another hour onto the day. The commences at 9.30am, so it's an early start and a late finish for any day-trippers.

NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.

Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.
