Jan Campbell is leading our next Long ARS walk around Great Budworth on Saturday 14th February.

She writes:-

This 7 mile, easy walk begins in the car park of the Cock o Budworth. We have permission to park, and it is a cosy pub in which to have a drink at the end of the walk.
We travel along roads and lanes to emerge in the picturesque village of Great Budworth before making our way to the Salt Museum. We will be stopping for a short break. There is a cafe here if you wish to buy a coffee. The route then takes us along the canal to the Anderton Boat Lift. Unfortunately this is not open until March. We can stop for lunch here. On leaving the canal we make our way across fields back to the Cock o Budworth.

Meet at Audlem car park to depart at 8.30
Walk commences at 9.45 prompt from the Cock o Budworth CW9 6HB
What 3 words – saturate, toolkit, note

There are 9 stiles en route. On the day of the recce there was one field of sheep, some fields with horses and some very muddy sections of path / field entrances.

Rated as 2 booter.

NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.

Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.

Non-members of Audlem Rambling Society (ARS) are welcome to come on a walk but are expected to join ARS and pay the membership fee after a trial walk or two.
