A group of Audlem campaigners concerned about the controversial wind farm that could be built to the south east of Audlem are pictured in this week's Chronicle. The photograph was taken at Audlem cricket ground from where the 350 feet high wind turbines would be seen.

The covering story was written before North Shropshire District councillors rejected Nuon Renewables plans to build the seven turbines at Bearstone, which is sited between Woore, Knighton and Norton in Hales. That planning meeting, reported on Audlem Online after Tuesday night's meeting, was attended by many hundreds of concerned local residents. While the councillors vetoed the turbines, the application is almost sure to go to appeal. (See Audlem Online 3rd September)

Pictured in the Chronicle are Audlem Parish Council's Mike Hill, Kate Down and Richard Furber with local residents Janet Furber, Roland Hall*, Shirley Sutton, James Ellsmoor, Donald Sutton and a representative of VORTEX, the group campaigning against the wind farm, Steve Ellsmoor.

*Roland Hall's article on the wind farm can be found on the Home Page of Audlem Online.
