Nantwich Bookshop, which is run by Audlem resident Steve Lawson, has joined forces with hundreds of other independent bookshops around the UK in a website service called, a nationwide directory catalogue of around a million book titles.

Orders are delivered overnight to any of the 200 participating bookshops for customer collection or to be forwarded on by post or courier. Steve says: "This means we can compete with the big internet companies and still retain our independence. It allows our loyal customers who can't get into the town centre in the daytime to choose their books online and pick them up at the weekend."
