A few days ago the APHAx (Audlem Public Hall Annexe) Committee published a plea for a local artist to produce an artist's impression of the new Annexe for us to include in various items of publicity material.

We are very pleased to announce that not just one, but two, local artists have risen to the challenge and provided us with artists' impressions that will very much enhance our efforts and they have both done it all for free!

The two artistic works, one by the widely known and admired painter of local canal scenes, Sheila Webster, and the other a pen-and-ink drawing by Cox Bank based artist, Debbie Caine, who specialises in pet portraits, make use of very different styles and techniques and this gives us the opportunity to use them in different contexts as the need arises.

The APHAx Committee, as well as being extremely grateful to the two artists, can also use their contributions as more evidence to demonstrate to the Big Lottery Fund people that this project has the support of the residents of Audlem.

And we are going to need more of this support as the project progresses – we need to raise a total of £100,000 as the local contribution to the total project cost of around £650,000. We have already identified sources of this funding amounting to about £75,000 and the real fund-raising effort is only just getting under way.
