News just in – the trial at Oxford Crown Court for the killing of ex-Audlem resident Lisa Consterdine has just ended. Lisa's fiancé Sean Freaney has been found guilty of murder after an eight day trial.

Freaney has received a life sentence with a minimum of fourteen years in prison. The 51-year-old denied strangling Lisa Consterdine at their home in Purslane Drive, Bicester, in the early hours of March 1st last year.

Many in Audlem who remember the Crown Hotel in its heyday, were shocked to hear of the murder of Lisa, once licensee of the Crown. Her body was discovered at her home and her partner Sean Freaney was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.

Lisa was the daughter of Tom and Joy Consterdine who ran the Crown Hotel for many years and were extremely well known in the Audlem area. Lisa later took over the licence and appointed managers to look after the running of the pub. The Crown eventually closed and was converted to flats and saw the addition of Crown Mews.

Lisa Consterdine, 48, also known as Lisa Emmitt, was found unconscious at her home. Police and paramedics tried to revive her, but she was declared dead at the scene.
