The project to bring Superfast Broadband (SFBB) to Audlem is reaching a crescendo of last minute activity.

The Parish Council working group led by Phil Johnson is trying to ensure that the service arrives in Audlem as soon as possible. A vital step in this process is to get more than 50% of telephone numbers in the Audlem exchange area to register an interest in SFBB. At the last count the figure stood at around 35% so there is some way still to go.

The working group are undertaking a concentrated effort to try to get as many residents with the 811xxx and 812xxx telephone numbers to register an interest. Leaflets are being delivered to as many households in the village as can be managed.

Registering an interest in no way commits anyone to actually sign up and use the service when it arrives and we are told that there will be no additional costs for the installation of SFBB. Residents will be able to choose their own provider for either regular or SFBB connection.

Buerton, Hankelow and Hatherton

Please note that the SFBB project applies to all telephones using the Audlem exchange, not just Audlem village. Indeed the more remote bits of the area stand to benefit more because the SFBB connection speeds are potentially so much better than the speeds being obtained now in many cases.

Businesses

There has also been a late request to get local businesses to indicate their support for SFBB in Audlem as well as just registering – any business out there which has an interest could help by sending an e-mail to the parish council which can then be sent in along with the other documentation to be provided – it all helps the case!

Register your interest

We urge all residents who haven't already registered to go onto the Connecting Cheshire website now to ensure we hit the magic 50%.
