Kitten trapped in toilet U-bend

We know that fire crews in Audlem have been well trained to tackle most things and that they get some unusual call-outs, including pulling a heifer out from Audlem canal recently.

But they can't have failed to be impressed by their colleagues in Chester who last week rescued a kitten trapped down a toilet.

Firefighters were called to a report of a kitten that had become stuck in a toilet U-bend at a house in Winchester Square in Chester.

When they arrived crews found the four-week old kitten stuck down the U-bend and unable to move.

They used cutting equipment to free the tiny kitten who has since been christened 'Lucky'.

Owner Samantha Rush said: "The firefighters are my heroes for rescuing my little cat. Without them I am sure the kitten would have died. I am really grateful for all they did to help me."
