Tickets are now on sale for the next film at the Public Hall which is the Oscar-winning film "The King's Speech" starring Colin Firth and Helena Bonham Carter. Tickets, costing £5, are available at the Post Office, Hoc's Fat Pigeon and Williams' newsagents.

The film has been widely praised by film critics for its visual style, art direction and acting. The Telegraph review stated: "Although it doesn't cut quite as deep as it might, Tom Hooper's film is fraught and fascinating with some excellent performances."

It follows the story of King George VI's impromptu accession to the throne and the speech therapist Lionel Logue, who helped him to overcome his stuttering.

The film will be shown at 7.30pm on Saturday 2nd April.

Please buy your tickets early as it is expected to be a popular film so it may not be possible to just turn up at the door and get a seat. In fact, demand is expected to be so high that the Public Hall Committee is considering offering a second showing which would be at 5.00 pm. More on that later if a decision is made to offer two showings.
