Volunteering Opportunities for Young People

We are running a programme as part of the National Citizen Service (NCS) over the summer called keep doing good and the projects aim is that young people aged 16 and 17 with achieve a million hours of doing good across the country this summer. The young people will volunteer for 16 hours in their local community in teams (6 of those hours will probably be planning and Induction).

I wondered if there were any volunteering opportunities for our young people in Cheshire East? We will have lots of young people doing 16 hours over July and August so we are looking for various projects and we are also running a programme in Autumn.

Taking into account that being outdoors is a safer way of working than being indoors at present would you have any options for small teams of young people to work as volunteers on projects to help the community in their local area staffed by us. Example projects could be painting benches, helping the elderly, making a well being garden, campaigning, litter picking or a mural or art project.

Feel free to give me a call on my mobile if you want to discuss or email me with any potential ideas you may have.
