Regular readers may recall our detailed report last week on the outside broadcast from The Lord Combermere's terrace last Thursday of the James Watt show on BBC Radio Stoke.

Unfortunately our report missed out one of the contributors and we have only just had a chance to listen to the excellent discussion between presenter James and local resident Joe Hoyles.

Joe started by talking about Audlem CW3, the Facebook page he has pulled together to promote local tourism, which reaches a different audience to AudlemOnline. The suggestion to use as many of the village's contact lists as possible to 'Like' Audlem CW3 came out of the Audlem Tourism Group, formed earlier this year. It already has over a 1,000 followers.

He then went on to talk about Audlem Lass and how in six years the small boat has carried 26,000 passengers and raised £22,000 for the RNLI, the lifeboat charity, much to the surprise of James Watt who had commented that Audlem was a long way from the sea.

Finally, there was mention of the Facebook alert system called Rural Alert that Joe set up after the incident where a local farmer was knocked down by a car driven by thieves yet still managed to alert others in the area. Rural Alert has 550 signed up followers.

Our apologies to Joe for our missing his interview in last week's report.
