Music lovers will want to head over to the Shroppie Fly tonight for what promises to be an excellent night's entertainment fronted by local guitar legend Jim Kirkpatrick.
Jim is an established guitarist on the rock/blues scene, and regularly performs with British AOR/1980s rock band FM who are starting a tour with Foreigner in April. Jim has performed with Whitesnake's Bernie Marsden, Roger Daltrey of the Who, and is pictured (right) with Brian May of Queen at the premier of the Rock of Ages film in which Jim was involved.
For tonight's gig, Jim will be joined by Roy Wood's bass player Neil Simpson, ex Climax Blues Band drummer Kegsy McCallum, and John Gunstone who has also performed with Bernie Marsden and used to play hammond organ for American blues guitarist Otis Grand.
Jim used to live in Audlem, and some of his earliest gigs were at the Shroppie Fly. It promises to be a great night, so get down early for a 9:30pm start.
