Many in Audlem will fondly remember John Crompton, who was heavily involved with the Methodist Church and directed several of the popular musical productions which take place there each year.

In April 2007, John died very suddenly from a rare form of Leukaemia. Three years on, his two sons Ben and Barnaby, along with Ben's girlfriend Emily have set out to raise money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research in their Father's memory.

Their three week challenge is to cycle from John O'Groats to Land's End, a truly amazing feat which begins next Monday with the first 52 mile stretch from John O'Groats to Helmsdale. The event named JiggleJogle ('jogle' standing for John O'Groats to Land's End!) has it's own website where you can follow the intrepid trio as they make their way down the length of the country. www.jiggleJOGLE.co.uk" rel="nofollow">www.jiggleJOGLE.co.uk

Ben, Barnaby and Emily will arrive in Audlem on the 8th of August, where there will be a 'meet the cyclist day' at Audlem Methodist Church with refreshments and a Leukaemia Research stall. Ben asked Audlem Online to thank all the individuals and groups, including Audlem Cyclesport who have been so helpful and generous towards their cause.

Audlem Online would like to wish the trio all the best for the tough journey ahead. If you would like to support their commendable effort to raise money for such an important charity, please visit their JustGiving page by clicking here" rel="nofollow">clicking here.
