The first meeting of 2007 for the Audlem District History Society takes place tonight in the Scout & Guide Hall in Cheshire Street, starting at 7.45pm. George Hardy will be talking about an Audlem man, Job Wellings, who was an early convert to Mormonism. He emigrated to Salt Lake City in Utah, USA in 1856 and was later chosen to go to Australia on a mission.
Visitors are welcome to what sounds a fascinating evening.
