Gathering of Historic Boats

Just a reminder for Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st July.

More than 20 colourful former working canal boats will gather on the canal at Audlem. The oldest by far is "Oates", a former horse-drawn icebreaker, built around 1850, but several of the boats are about 100 years old, and almost all were built before WW2. Even the newest are over 60 years old.

Please do talk to the boat crews — they would love to tell you about the history of their boat, and what work it carried out on the canals.

Please also pop in to Audlem Mill for ice creams, gifts and needlework, and the biggest selection of canal books in Britain!

Free parking is available on Turnpike Field, close to the canal bridge.
