Audlem residents are invited to share their views on Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service's plans for the future.

It follows the launch of a draft version of its Integrated Risk Management Plan (IRMP) for 2014/15.

This annual action plan sets out how Cheshire Fire Authority intends to address some of the challenges it faces.

Cllr John Joyce, the Chair of the Fire Authority, said: "I would encourage residents to get involved with this consultation and share your views about the direction of the Service. The feedback you provide really helps us to shape the future of your fire and rescue service."

Feedback from last year's consultation will feature in the Service's Annual Report, which will be delivered to every home in Audlem over the coming weeks.

This consultation will aim to get your views on a range of issues such as:

  • Plans for a paid for Home Safety Assessment for low risk households
  • Potential development of a Safety Centre for young people
  • Making it a legal requirement for landlords to fit long life smoke alarms
  • Make it a legal requirement for sprinkler systems to be fitted in all homes
  • Plans to reduce attendance at false alarms.

Paul Hancock , Chief Fire Officer for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, explained: "We maintain a strong focus on both the safety of our communities and our firefighters. I would really like people to get involved with this consultation and share their thoughts about the direction we are planning to take as a Service."

If you would like to have your say visit – Making Cheshire Safer – where the full draft plan can also be viewed or you can call 01606 868305 for a printed copy of the questionnaire.
