On Sunday 5th October at St James Church, we hold our annual Harvest Thanksgiving Service. It is a time when we recognise our dependency for the food we need.
The Christian understanding has always been that that dependency is a partnership between human effort through farmers and growers and the provision of our Creator God.
In acknowledgement of this it is tradition to present harvest gifts which are later distributed to those in need.
Our modern take on this tradition is to bring produce which will be forwarded to Nantwich Food Bank. We are therefore asking folk to bring items which the Food Bank have requested as urgently needed. These are: long life fruit juice, long life milk, tinned fruit, tinned sponge puddings, sugar, cereals, rice pudding, tea bags, instant coffee, instant mashed potato, rice. tinned meat/ fish, tinned vegetables, jam, biscuits or snack bars, toiletries.
Our service begins at 11a.m. and all will be very welcome to join us.
