Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

to everyone who supported Audlem Guides' Christmas Foodbank Collection by donating items suggested on their Reverse Advent Calendar. All your generous donations were gratefully received by Nantwich Foodbank and will help make Christmas that little bit more special for Foodbank users.

A bumper sleighful of goodies was delivered to the Foodbank's 'Drop and Go' Event at Brine Leas College on Saturday, ready to be put into the Christmas Foodbank Parcels. No less a person than Father Christmas was there to greet everyone, and he was soon joined by Nantwich Mayor, Cllr Pam Kirkham, and local Nantwich MP, Kieran Mullan, who all sent their thanks and Christmas wishes on behalf of the Foodbank to the Guides and everyone who had contributed.

The Guides were helped in their task by the staff at Audlem Co-op who provided a basket near the checkouts for Foodbank donations. Manager Jo said that the Guide's Foodbank Collection Point had proved popular with customers, who enjoyed being able to help out with donations of some special goodies for Christmas.

The amount of donations was even more amazing due to the fact that Lockdown covered almost all the Reverse Advent Calendar's collection time during November. So many thanks also to ADCA members who, despite having their regular meetings paused during Lockdown, managed to make their own contribution to the collection, too.

Nantwich Foodbank still needs donations, this year more than ever, so together with Audlem Co-op, Audlem Guides have decided that the Foodbank Collection Point will remain until Christmas in its usual spot near the checkouts, ready for anyone who would like to donate food and children's gifts.

Thank you all again! and Merry Christmas from 1st Audlem Guides!
