Saturday September 7th

The Save the White Lion Fundraising Group are pleased to announce that the arrangements for our 50/60s themed event "Groovin' on the Green", scheduled for Saturday September 7th, are well under way.

The legendary local band "California Blue" are booked and will be performing three 45 minute slots.

There will be a competition for the best turned out 50/60s car as well as the best turned out 60's dresser so dig out your mini-skirts, winkle pickers and ban the bomb shirts. Oh, and don't forget to 'wear some flowers in your hair'. Flowers will be available to purchase on the day!

N.A.S.A. has given us permission to approach local Professor William Gibbons, the designer of the prototype to the Apollo programme. He has kindly offered to put his rocket on display. Prof. Gibbons, we are informed, is likely to take centre stage in more ways than one!

Numerous side shows and games are planned for kids of all ages.

Memory Lane Classics will be bringing along a fantastic selection of their cars and there will be a photo opportunity and the chance to ride in some of their beautiful vehicles.

Classic Car enthusiasts are invited to bring along their own 50s and 60s vehicles for this event and to enter into the competition for best turned out car.

There will be a licensed bar, a BBQ, tea, coffee and cakes.

So please do come along and help us restore The White Lion as our community pub.

The event starts at 2pm and goes on until 10pm.

Tickets (wristbands) £5.00 (cash only) can be purchased at Williams of Audlem and at the Nantwich Bookshop on the square, Nantwich. Children under 12 will be admitted free of charge.
