Green Shoots AwardADAPT (Audlem and District Acting Positively for Transition) wants to hear about young people who are putting into practice ADAPT's priorities.

ADAPT is about creating a sustainable, resilient and inspiring community for our grandchildren and beyond, so it's actually all about the next generations, and it would be great to recognise and encourage our young people who are already adapting!

ADAPT's priorities are:
-Grow more food locally
-Support local shops and services
-Generate electricity locally and increase energy efficiency in our buildings
-Reduce transport CO2 emissions locally
-Communicate information to our community

The Green Shoots Young Adaptor Awards are open to all young people aged 16 and under on 1st September 2010 and living in Audlem, Buerton, Dodcot-cum-Wilkesley or Hankelow.

If you know a young person who does things related to one or more of ADAPT's priorities, please contact:
Susan James
Tel 01270 811092
E-mail runaways@hotmail.co.uk">runaways@hotmail.co.uk

Let me know the young person's name, date of birth, address, telephone number, and the reason why you are nominating them for a Green Shoots Young Adaptor Award. The deadline for nominations is Monday, 27th September 2010.

Certificates will be presented to all Young Adaptors at the ADAPTability event on Saturday, 2 October 2010 in the hall at the Methodist Chapel in Audlem, from 10.00am to 3.00pm.

ADAPTability is an opportunity to get involved in ADAPTing. There will be energy seminars, local produce on sale, book stall, films about topics related to ADAPT's priorities, refreshments, children's activities, and more. Come along!
