Going fishing – in the garden!

Our thanks to Frank Morris for this splendid photograph taken yesterday of a heron checking out local garden ponds from a roof not far from the village centre.

Those with ponds will not be too surprised. Herons have long known there is in Audlem an alternative (and easier) catch to be had other than from the River Weaver or the Shropshire Union Canal.
