If you were enthused by the latest invention by Billy Gibbons – Invented in Audlem, our story yesterday – check out the 2004 film Get in Your Rocket and Follow Me!.

It was produced by Pelosi Productions and is listed in the British Films Catalogue. It had its première at the National Film Theatre in 2004 – Audlem Online's editor was there but, as Audlem Online did not exist at the time, no local review was published.

The British Film Catalogue says: "Billy Gibbons lives in a village called Audlem in Cheshire, quite an odd place, which sometimes has a slight feel of League of Gentlemen about it.

"Still, Billy stands out – every aspect of his existence is somehow rooted in the 1950s: from his clothes, house, car, music to his rocket man objects which signify the 50s exploration of space and lunar landing.

"This documentary shows the lifestyle and multiple characters of this unusual man."

The film poster says: "Not every village has one." Everyone who knows Billy will testify to that and those that have seen the film were delighted it was such a sympathetic portrait of a true character. The Executive/Co-Producer was Angela Huntbach, who was raised near Audlem.
