A new play fort has been installed at Wybunbury Delves primary school in memory of Lewis, a pupil of the school who tragically lost his battle with Leukaemia in late 2017.

The school and its community have been raising funds in his memory, part of which has been used on the new play equipment. Dubbed 'Fort Lewis', it was officially unveiled yesterday as part of a charity fund-raising 8km relay run on the school playing field.

From the school's website: A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us, we are overwhelmed by the generosity which has allowed this to happen so quickly and for us to be able to have such a large piece of equipment for all our children to enjoy in Lewis' memory."When we are playing outside, it's when we most remember him and it's like he'll be there with us."

When fundraising began we didn't think we would end up with our very own Fort! It mirrors Lewis' love of his tree house. We hope he would approve of Year 3's choice! It is something that will be treasured by Wybunbury Delves children for many years to come.
