Footpath closure near The Shroppie

Next week, 215 metres of the footpath that runs alongside the Shropshire Union Canal will be closed for essential repairs to the towpath and embankment. The section affected is between The Shroppie Fly and Moss Hall (grid reference SJ6573 4364 to SJ6560 4381). It is thought the work will last about 12 weeks.

Walkers will still be able to enjoy their walks along this attractive part of the canal, however, as Cheshire County Council, who are carrying out the work, have said that an alternative route will be made available on the site.
