We will have many varieties of fish in the pop-up shop this coming Saturday. The fish will all be ready filleted and ready to cook, it is being sourced from a reputable local company who are renowned for sourcing the freshest and best quality fish whilst considering the sustainability of the catch.

All of the fish will be FRESH and therefore can be taken home used during the week or frozen for a later date. We have also been busy sourcing some brilliant cook-in bags and Charles will be more than happy to put a few fillets of fish (variety of your choice) in these sealable bags that you can just throw in the oven when you get home from work and add some vegetables.

Fresh Fish

Cod Haddock Sea bass Kippers Rainbow Trout Sea Bream
Salmon Sword Fish Lemon Sole Plaice Smoked Haddock Sardines

Shellfish

Raw tiger prawns Welsh Mussels Clams Oysters King scallops

This selection is just a base to work from, we have had a few pre-orders in via email and hope that this will become a popular method of ensuring that you get the fish of your choice delivered to the shop as often as you wish.

If you would like to order some fish for the Christmas period it would be advisable to chat to Charles sooner rather than later. I, like many, have never been very adventurous with fish however this is due to a couple of factors:

  • I would never buy fish from a supermarket.
  • Local fishmongers are inaccessible when you are working full time.

Hopefully we can tempt you to try out something more than the obvious fish pie -although this is a very good place to start! I have my recipe books ready and I am looking forward to hearing a few recipes from O&T regulars – please feel free to share- fish@oxtailandtrotter.com or pop and see us on Saturday.

The pop-up fish shop will be open from 10am on Saturday (the Butchers shop from 8.30am as usual), Hope to see you there.
