The Audlem Festival programme is now available and what a splendid booklet it is. No less than 36 pages are packed with information about the music and arts on offer, plus on Bank Holiday Monday 27th May, the Audlem Carnival.

A production of this quality is also a credit to the local businesses in Audlem, Hankelow, and the surrounding area that have advertised in the programme and helped fund it – indeed, it's hard to imagine a village the size of Audlem and district supporting so many businesses, never mind having a Music & Arts Festival of this size.

It all kicks off on Thursday 23rd May with the amazing Poetry Slam in the Bridge Inn – more on this in the coming days – and music at both the Lord Combermere and Shroppie Fly.

On Friday 24th May, there's music at all three pubs taking in Folk, Poetic Blue, Nu Folk, Blues and Alternative Rock as well as a Quarter Peal of the Bells of St James' Church at 7.00pm. In ringing the quarter peal, each bell will be struck at least 1,250 times and this will take about 45 minutes.

Saturday has an amazing programme of music and art to suit all tastes, a Poetry Workshop, Audlem Voices in St James' Church, classical music with a twist by The Love Music Trust Youth Sinfonia, an Arts Exhibition featuring professional and amateur artists as well as a major work by the children of Audlem School.

Sunday will have music fans racing from venue to venue as some of the biggest names on the Manchester, Chester and North East England music scenes arrive for the Festival as well as many local and regular Festival favourites in village venues, including the legendary Blues Alley. One glance at the programme will have you planning a long yet rewarding day.

The music and art continues on Bank Holiday Monday with the added attraction of Audlem Carnival parading through the village and then on the Playing Field.

Get your programme now – you will be staggered by what is on offer this year. Much, much more Festival news on AudlemOnline over the coming weeks.
