Last week, in the comfortable surroundings of the newly refurbished Scout & Guide Hall, Audlem's St. Lukes Hospice Support Group held an evening of hilarious entertainment provided by the highly accomplished, talented and fabulous Fatma. The bellydancing supremo gave not only a superb performance of her art (and art it certainly is) but accompanied it with a delightful talk on the origins of the genre, combined with many amusing illustrations using volunteers, mostly willing, from the audience.

The evening concluded in great style with Fatma getting the entire gathering on their feet and leading them in eastern dance whilst the "volunteers" played a variety of percusion instruments as an accompaniment. It was, by common acclaim, a most enjoyable evening with a whole host of delicious sweet meats provided by the skill and hard work of committee members. The event grossed £510 and our thanks go to all our supporters.

The Support Group will be fundraising at all the usual village events this summer and will he holding another Hog Roast at Corbrook Court on Saturday 14th July.
