There's lots of news from FASA (Friends of Audlem School Association) in this week's Audlem St James' newsletter, which may be of wider interest:
Bingo and Family Quiz Night
Good food, good company and a great atmosphere all contributed to a fantastic night on Friday! We would like to say thank you to Olive, who volunteered her time to call the Bingo, to Ralph who amongst other roles, was our Quizmaster and also to Mrs Hayward for making the chilli.
We drew the Christmas Raffle on the night and unclaimed prizes will be distributed this week. We raised an amazing £655, so thank you to everyone who came along and made the night so successful!
Rag Bag Bank
Most of you will be aware of our regular Rag Bag collection. Well we have taken the scheme one stage further by installing a Rag Bag Bank at the main gate to the School. We are hoping that this will generate a steady income for the School and also capture any missed opportunities between campaigns.
So if you are planning a pre-Christmas sort out or simply just have the odd unwanted textile item, please use this bank. We will still be planning for our next BIG Rag Bag drive on 23rd January 2012.
Spend and Raise
Whilst looking for new avenues to raise money for the School, we came across this great scheme where people can contribute to our target by simply shopping through a particular website.
The website we have chosen is spendandraise.com/FASA.
You will find thousands of online retailers there, who will simply give us a commission on anything you buy online, without you having to pay more or give more. The retailers are in effect giving the school money for nothing!
Please consider this option if you are shopping online over Christmas. All of the most popular retailers are there including Sainsbury, M&S and John Lewis. It is a very simple website to use and it works!
Look out for more information on our reminder cards and leaflets coming out soon.
