After five nights and three full days, the Audlem Festival came to an end with a fantastic final day that must have had music lovers – and anyone that simply wants to be entertained – swooning and wishing there was even more to come.

Despite a chill wind, large numbers were in the village again – it's great to see so many camping here while the canal was lined with boats as visitors packed Audlem for a Festival whose reputation grows year by year.

The Festival team – who seemed to be working night and day since Thursday (and for many, many months on all the planning) – must have a huge sense of satisfaction this morning as they reflect on an amazing job amazingly well done.

To put on so many bands and performers, to deliver a sound quality of the highest order, and keep to the timetable so well is quite staggering. Doubtless, a few of them may have staggered home after a celebratory drink last night, but it (and any occasional drinks that went before) were so well deserved.

After a weekend like this, it's unfair to pick out any highlights but yesterday's crowds told of the enduring appeal of the Billy Gibbons Experience – and it really was an experience – and The Travelling Band who seemed so pleased to be playing in Audlem again – and this from a band that really does travel!

But there was so much talent, so much good music on offer throughout the festival that everyone who had the pleasure of experiencing it will have their own special memories and festival favourites to cherish.

Good to to see the Arts and Poetry getting appreciated with a very successful exhibition while the Poetry Slam and various workshops also worked a treat. Good too to have a busy programme in St James' Church plus having new venues like Number 11 Cheshire Street with music, poetry and cookery demonstrations.

A big "Thank You" too to all the sponsors, advertisers, local businesses – and notably The Lord Combermere, the Bridge Inn and the Shroppie Fly – that make the event possible, and free, leaving us, the non-paying public, with money to spend on food, drink, ice creams, CDs and tee shirts.

A fabulous five days. And finally, from AudlemOnline, a big Thank You to the photographers – Alvar Jones; Frank Morris and Phil Baker – who have worked hard throughout to capture images for us of the Audlem Festival 2015.

We will publishing more shots over the coming days.
