The Audlem Ramblers Society (ARS) is kicking off its 2006 programme this Saturday with a gentle walk in Derbyshire. It's a circular walk from Ilam (that's the place, not eleven in the morning!) of 8 miles, plus possible add-ons if required by the more enthusiastic. If you would like to join this walk, be on Audlem car park at or slightly before 9 o'clock on Saturday morning.
ARS arranges a walk every month. The walks are in North Wales, the Peak District, the Lakes and nearer to home. Last month's was an 8 mile walk from Bickerton Hill to Beeston Castle along the Sandstone Trail with a pleasant pub break along the way. Bring a packed lunch – and don't be surprised at some of the exotic sandwich fillings and crisp flavours that can feature in the Society's lunches.
